Battle of Nurn

The air in this place had a tartish aftertaste. This was true in all of the mine, but stood out on the lower levels.
She stood there in a dreamlike state, waiting.
'Retry.' she heard Gio's voice, and started the seam welder again. It again surprised her with it's low, silent humm, but this time the sparker lit up with a blue flicker.
'Great.' Gio stood up, fixing the protective glasses on his face. 'Try this wall.'
Ambie moved two steps forward as blue sparks separated stone from metal.
'You still think all of this is the inevitable victory of progress over reaction?' Gio went back to their discussion from earlier.
Her frown went unseen under the protective gear.
'I am a whig only half time now, remeber?' she said, showing him the gunner markings. She caught him grin.
'Sure thing soldier. Sorry we got back the misclaimed deposits and keep you away from the guns.'
Ambie didn’t say anything to that, pushing the welder forward along the track.
