Frey picked up the squiggly piece of fuel and carried it over to the stove hardly keeping balance. It was his turn to stoke it. That made Jess all the happier, as it's her turn to fire the guns this time. Frey fed the loader and watched as the gelatinous cube goes into the fire, all burnt half the way in. Rex wagged his tail at the sound of scorching flames.
'All done.' he said looking up. 'Don't miss!'
Jess, until now busy fiddling with the EMP controls, looked down from the gunner seat.
'I never miss. I am the reason for this unit to be here in the first place!'
Frey gave out what he thought was a silent sigh, but Jess must've heard it.
'Don't you disagree cause you know it's all about me.'
'Hey! I am a pretty good shot myself!' he shouted up, but regretted the second later. Jess jumped down pointing the laser pointer at the board, where her score of 100% hits was highlighted in all possible colors.
'Can you read the missed shot count under Frey?' she asked calmly. He knew this calculated calm voice and looked at the floor at his feet.
'Thought so.' she started climbing back up at the pilot seat. Rex moved his legless body closer to Frey's foot and looked up smiling. Frey smiled back.
